Service history is broader than repair history

A repair fixes a problem. Service history also includes inspection, cleaning, adjustment, routine maintenance, installation and follow-up visits. Keeping them in one timeline shows the full relationship between the household and the equipment.

Use event types

Label events such as installation, maintenance, inspection, repair, replacement or consultation. The labels make a long timeline easier to scan.

Preserve provider notes

A short note about what the provider actually did is more useful than the provider name alone. Attach the invoice reference where appropriate.

Convert recommendations into tasks

If a technician says “review this next season,” create a future task connected to that event.

Keep historical providers even after switching

Old records can still explain prior work even when the household now uses a different company.

Contextual CTA: Import the last year of significant service events first. Older history can be added only when it is useful.
