A renewal reminder should create a decision window

A notification after the card is charged is too late to be useful. Track the next renewal and choose a review date with enough lead time to decide whether the service remains worthwhile.

Annual renewals need longer visibility

A yearly service can disappear from household awareness for eleven months. Surface it well before renewal.

Monthly renewals may not need individual alerts

For stable monthly subscriptions, a quarterly or monthly review may be less noisy than constant notifications.

Track changes

If a price changes or the plan is downgraded, update the record rather than creating a duplicate subscription.

Keep cancellation notes factual

Management links and account owner are useful. Passwords are not.

Contextual CTA: Add a review reminder before the next annual renewal, not on the day the charge happens.
