Travel handoff should focus on the unusual responsibilities created by absence

The goal is not to document every household routine. It is to identify what changes because someone is away.

Review expected events during the trip

Deliveries, trash/recycling, pet care, plant care, building access, home service appointments and time-sensitive renewals are typical examples. Include only what applies.

Give clear escalation paths

If a leak appears or an appliance fails, who should the sitter contact? A concise service-provider list is more useful than access to the full asset database.

Minimize security exposure

Travel documents should not be publicly shared. Avoid placing absence dates and access details on a visible family display or unsecured printout.

Close the handoff after return

Mark temporary responsibilities complete and capture any issue that occurred while away.

Contextual CTA: Generate the handoff 48 hours before departure, then do a final update on the day you leave.
