Appliance Replacement Planner

This tool prioritizes planning; it does not tell users to replace functioning equipment on a fixed birthday.

Inputs per appliance

  • category/name;
  • age if known;
  • recent repair count (user-entered);
  • recent repair cost (optional);
  • current condition: normal / concern / unreliable;
  • disruption if failure occurs: low / medium / high;
  • replacement constraints already known: dimensions, connections, special household needs.

Output

Place items into:

  • No immediate planning needed;
  • Keep an eye on it;
  • Research replacement options;
  • Needs professional assessment / current problem.

The scoring logic must be transparent and conservative. Condition and disruption should weigh more than age alone. Never output “this appliance will fail within X months.”

Useful result actions

  • save measurements;
  • add replacement research task;
  • add a reserve estimate manually;
  • link repair history;
  • print household replacement watch list.

CTA: Use the planner to decide what deserves attention—not to throw away equipment that still works well.
