Home Maintenance Cost Tracker
This tool uses manual household records to show what the home has actually cost to maintain.
Inputs
Each entry:
- date;
- amount;
- category: routine maintenance / repair / inspection-service / replacement / improvement-other;
- asset or home area;
- provider optional;
- note optional.
Output
Show totals by year, category and asset. Provide a simple line or bar visualization only if it remains accessible and readable without color alone.
Keep categories separate
Do not combine improvement projects with repair unless the user deliberately chooses to. Otherwise the total becomes difficult to interpret.
No financial advice
The tool summarizes history. It must not calculate how much the user “should” save or claim a universal home-value percentage is correct.
Export
CSV and print should work without an account. Provide a local save-to-app option.
CTA: Start with the last 12 months of meaningful service and repair costs; there is no need to reconstruct every small purchase.
