Warranty Expiration Calculator
Use this calculator when the warranty document gives a clear start date and term.
Tool inputs
- warranty start date;
- term number;
- term unit: days, months or years;
- optional “notify me before” lead time for local export/saved task.
Output
Show:
- calculated end date;
- days remaining from the user’s device date;
- a plain-language status: active, approaching, passed;
- an “estimated” badge unless the user confirms the written terms use that exact start date.
Calculation behavior
Date arithmetic must be explicit and tested, especially for leap years and month-end dates. If adding one month to January 31, Codex must define and document the chosen date-handling rule rather than rely on accidental JS rollover behavior.
Limitation copy
The calculator handles date arithmetic only. Warranty coverage, start date, exclusions, registration requirements and legal rights depend on the actual written terms and applicable law.
Example
Purchase/start date: August 19, 2026. Term: 24 months. The calculator shows the resulting date and encourages the user to verify whether the warranty begins on purchase, delivery, installation or another event.
CTA: Save the date with the receipt, model and warranty source so the number remains meaningful later.
